The autopsy result of the late Mabinty Sesay who was pregnant has proven that the deceased died of severe physical assault.

According to the Consultant Forensic Pathologist, Doctor Simeon Owizz Koroma, the late Mabinty Sesay died of multiple blunt force, fractures/injuries of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and spine, severe physical assault, skull fracture, shock-ruptured, etc.

It could be recalled that the Ross Road Police Division was accused of badly manhandling the five-month pregnant woman, (Mabinty Sesay) late during a raid for suspected Kush they claimed to have been conducted at Peace Market, in the Eastern Part of Freetown and later died at Ross Road Clinic.

Abdulai Sesay, brother of late Mabinty Sesay said that he was inside the parlor eating some garie when the police officers break into Mabinty’s room and first arrested him.

“I am Abdulai Sesay, late Mabinty’s brother who was inside the parlor on Thursday 1st December 2022 at around 12 to 1 PM, some police officers with a van labeled “Ross Road Police Division” break into Mr. Razzack’s room band inspector Medpolo ordered one delta office to arrest me and my friend.

They hit with force the steel door of Razzack and demanded to open the door, Inspector Medpolo, instructed one fair in complexion policewoman, I didn’t know her name to enter through the sealing, she climb up the freezer and tear the sealing, she jumped into the room together with Inspector Medpolo and succeeded in breaking the steel door they met late Mabinty inside, they pushed her into the wall when Mabinty grasps her plastic bag that contained her money, the female police officer fought her and started shocking her with her stunt gun until she became hopelessly hapless, during the time while they were fighting for the money, Inspector Medpolo made a statement that he will set a brighter example at Peace Market.

They took the plastic that contained the money and arrested Mabinty also, together, Mr. Razzack arrived and asked them to arrest him instead of his five-month pregnant woman since he didn’t know the crime she committed, Med Polo also ordered the arrest of Mr. Razzack and they took us to their police van’’, he narrated.

Abdul Sesay further narrated that, the police officer said they raided them because they suspected Razzack of having KUSH substance, adding that they didn’t find anything like KUSH in the room of Mabinty. He went on to narrate that, after their arrest, the police van drove to Race Cross Cemetery instead of the police station and demanded six thousand new leones (le 6,000,000).

“They drove down to Race Cross and parked their van right inside Columbia Davies compound, Inspector Medpolo then called Razzack and asked him if he (Razzack) wants him to charge the matter to court, Mr. Razzack laughed at the statement, Medpolo then requested Mr. Razzack to give them six million (6,000,00) old leones before they could release him and his wife. Mr. Razzack then negotiated for two million old leones but insisted on the six million leones. They released me and my friend there and then took Mr. Razzack and his wife to Ross Road Police Station by then Mabinty was weak and leaned on her husband, by the time I reached home I heard the death of Mabinty who was a big shocker to me’’, he said

Before the autopsy had been performed, Abdul Razzack Smart, husband of the late Mabinty Sesay directly accused the Sierra Leone Police of killing his five (5) Months old pregnant wife. The bereaved husband narrated that on the 1st of December 2022, his five months old pregnant woman was inside her room when a team of police officers headed by the OPS Officer, Abu Bakarr Mohamed Kamara attached at the Ross Road Police Division break into his house at Peace Market on the intelligence of having Kush substance in his room.

He further accused the SLP of entering his room through the ceiling since they could not break the steel door, adding that his five-month pregnant woman was having over five million old leones in her possession when the police forcefully started searching his room and find his wife’s money. He said the wife insisted that her money should not be taken away.

” They manhandled my wife and used stunt shocker on her. I asked them to arrest me instead of my wife. They arrested me, my wife, and my niece, the police van drove dawn to Columbia Davies at Race Cross where they packed their vehicle and requested six thousand new leones (le6,000,000) so they could release him and his wife. I told them that I didn’t have money, and they then took us to Ross Road Police, by then my wife was complaining of not feeling good, and by the time they took us to the Police station, my wife was totally weak. The police took my wife to Ross Road clinic where she was confirmed dead. The police hastily took my wife’s corpse to the Connaught Hospital mortuary unknowingly to me and her family, he narrated in tears.

However, the police issued a press release via social media claiming that the five months late pregnant woman was not arrested but that she was accompanying her husband to the police station.

Meanwhile, on Monday 5th December 2022 before the postmortem, a team of senior police officers headed by the Regional Commander, AIG Samadia including AIG Memunatu Conteh visited the bereaved family of late Mabinty at Dockyard, Back of Saint Helena, and gave five thousand new leones (le5,000,000) and two bags of rice with the pretext of sympathizing with the family.

During the presentation of the two bags of rice and the five million old leones money, AIG Memunatu Conteh does accept what some police officers could do such as she accepts blame for some police officers for being unprofessional.
