Honourable Ing. Daniel Amadu Bangura, Member of Parliament for Constituency 047 under the All People’s Congress (APC), has on Saturday 19th April 2025, officially launched the construction of three bridges in Ronurie Village, Yoni Mabanta Chiefdom, Tonkolili District.

This initiative aims to enhance connectivity among several villages in the district, thereby improving transportation and access to essential services. The bridges are expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods, contributing to the socio-economic development of the area.

During the ceremony, Honourable Bangura presented construction materials worth millions of tonnes, including 120 bags of cement, shovels, iron rods, and nails, to the project’s engineers. He emphasized the significance of the project as a gesture of gratitude to the community for their support during the 2023 elections.

Community leaders and residents expressed their appreciation for the project. Mohamed S. Kanu (MSK), the Youth Leader, affirmed the youth’s readiness to contribute actively to the initiative. Madam Isha Kargbo, Chairlady of Ronurie Village, extended her gratitude to Honourable Bangura for his commitment to the community’s development.

The launch of the three projects is seen as a significant step towards addressing the infrastructural challenges in Tonkolili District, particularly the Ronurie community. Improved road and bridge infrastructure is crucial for enhancing access to healthcare, education, and markets, thereby improving the overall quality of life for residents.

This development aligns with broader efforts to improve infrastructure in Sierra Leone’s rural areas.

As construction commences, the residents of Ronurie Village and surrounding areas look forward to the completion of the bridges, which promise to bring lasting benefits to the constituency and residents.
