On Friday 28th March 2025, Baraka Foundation and Baraka Mining Company donated food items worth millions of Old Leones to the people of Kafe Chiefdom in the Tonkolili District.

Making the donation, the Chief Operations Officer of Baraka Foundation Madam Mary J. Kosia said that as a company and a foundation, they have adopted a kind of a tradition wherein whenever there is a need or an occasion to support the people within their operating communities, they always show up to extend helping hand.

Madam Kosia said that herself, Mr. Ismail El Abbouti and partners cannot allow the Holy month of Ramadan to end without extending their goodwill gesture to the people of Kafe Chiefdom.

She continued that despite the fact that they encountered some challenges when the Holy month of Ramadan started, being that they have the people of Kafe at heart they decided to offer the food items as their gift to the people of Kafe.

Receiving the food items from Baraka Foundation/Mining, PC Masakma Madibie II of Kafe acknowledged that the gesture by the Mining company is a steady tradition and pattern from Baraka Foundation/Mining, disclosing that they (Baraka) have done more than what they are now doing in the past.

“We know that this collaboration and corporation that is existing between Baraka and Kafe people is very effective and functioning,” PC Masakma emphasized.

He assured Baraka Foundation that there is a very high appreciation from the Chiefdom and its people, adding that on the next day, the items will reach the required beneficiaries.

He disclosed that gestures of this nature are very difficult to come by especially from someone who has just expressed an intention to receive something but that even without receiving yet, they are extending goodwill gesture to the people.

The PC extended open hands to Baraka Foundation and assured them that their mineral availability is unlimited.

Personal Assistant to Madam Mary J. Kosia, Chernor Moseray thanked the Paramount Chief and the people of Kafe for welcoming Baraka Foundation in their community and expressed hope for a fruitful relationship.

The donated food items included: 50 kg bags of rice, bags of onions, bags of sugar, cartoons of frozen chickens, gallons of oil among other items.

Similar gesture was also extended by the Foundation in others parts of the country.
