A motorbike accident in the late hours of Saturday, April 12th, 2025, has resulted in the deaths of two young men along the road connecting Banana Island and Bendu Junction.
The motorbike rider has been identified as Amara Sesay, reportedly a resident of 26 Kongolie Street, Kenema. Tragically, both Sesay and his passenger died instantly at the scene of the accident.
The victims were traveling on a motorbike bearing the registration plate (AXT – 597). Eyewitnesses who quickly arrived at the location discovered a document that allowed them to identify the rider and his address.
Further investigation of documents found at the scene revealed a connection to the police force. A note identified the bike rider as the younger brother of Police Inspector Michael L. Abdulai, the Officer-in-Charge of the Investigation Branch at the Kenema Police Station and the rightful owner of the motorcycle.
The note, addressed to checkpoint colleagues, read: “From: Insp. Michael L. Abdulai. O/C Investigation Branch, Kenema Police Station. To: All Colleagues of Various Checkpoints. Info: Bearer of this, note, is my younger brother in control of TVS Star 125 motorcycle with registration number AXT 597, it is my personal belonging. His body license processes on course. Please assist him from any risk necessary. I count on you all.”
As of the latest reports, neither of the deceased has been formally identified by family members or friends. Authorities are likely working to notify next of kin following the tragic incident.
