The Sierra Leone Police have reinforced their commitment to security and leadership development within the Bo West Division by consistently holding monthly rotational Commanders’ Meetings.

The most recent gathering took place on Friday, 28th March 2025, in Sumbuya, Lugbu Chiefdom, under the direction of the newly assigned Local Unit Commander (LUC), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Joseph Honor Kamara.

These rotating meetings, hosted at different police stations and posts within the division, play a crucial role in addressing security concerns, refining operational strategies, and reinforcing collaboration between law enforcement and the community.

During his opening remarks, CSP Kamara underscored his dedication to intelligence-driven policing, proactive security measures, and maintaining stability in the region. He highlighted the necessity of strong community partnerships and a strategic approach to crime prevention.

The meeting convened a diverse group of key stakeholders, including Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jacob Ganda, police personnel, local authorities, and community representatives. Discussions centered on crime prevention tactics, increased police visibility, intelligence gathering, and fostering stronger community engagement to tackle security challenges effectively.

Expressing his appreciation, Paramount Chief Nallo of Lugbu Chiefdom lauded CSP Kamara’s leadership, recognizing him as the first LUC in Bo West to implement such an impactful initiative. Other stakeholders also commended the strategy, emphasizing the importance of local engagement in bolstering security efforts.

Further deliberations touched on the need to improve living conditions for officers stationed in various communities, with local leaders acknowledging the dedication and service of the police force.

The continuation of these rotational Commanders’ Meetings underscores the division’s commitment to continuous improvement, transparency, and community-oriented policing.

Under CSP Kamara’s leadership, Bo West remains steadfast in its mission to enhance security, build public trust, and maintain a proactive approach to law enforcement that prioritizes the safety and well-being of all residents.
