The Speaker of Parliament, Abass Bundu has frowned over the modus operandi of some commercial bike riders in the central business district (CBD) of the capital Freetown.
Speaker Bundu said that the majority of commercial bike riders fail to adhere to traffic rules especially around central Freetown. The speaker said that most of their actions leave some peaceful pedestrians and other traffic in danger.
He affirmed, in Parliament, that these bike riders are obliged to follow the rules and further urged the police to implement traffic rules and regulations particularly against bike riders using the CBD.
The Speaker further urged the Chairmen of the Committees of Transport and Internal Affairs to proffer solutions to the issue.
Speaker Bundu went on admonish members of Parliament and others in attendance during the sitting to respect the lives of citizens and obey the laws of the country.
