A Canadian woman, Marie Giggle, who was adopted from Freetown, Sierra Leone, 28 years ago, is now searching for her biological father, Dixon Saudi Sesay, in the hopes of reconnecting and learning more about her origins.

Giggle, who was the sole survivor of an entire village after the murder of her mother, was adopted at the age of 5-years by a Canadian family in 1994. In a statement, she recounted her story, saying, “This is probably a long shot, but I am going to try anyways. Miracles do happen, every day.”

She described her adoptive family as “amazing people” that she “loves and cherishes more than words could describe,” explained that she is seeking to find her biological father, Dixon Saudi Sesay, who placed her up for adoption in 1994 after the tragic events that left her an orphan.

“We have not seen each other since he placed me up for adoption in 1994, after the murder of my mother in the village. He found me next to my mother’s body, I was the sole survivor of an entire village,” the woman stated.

According to the woman, Sesay had written her a letter explaining his reasons for the adoption and had sent her some photos, informing her that he had remarried and that she has a sister named Beatrice.

She expressed her desire to at least know where she came from and her history, saying, “A part of me will forever feel lost! I have accepted the fact that I will never know my biological Mother, however, if he’s still alive, I would love to atleast know where I came from and my history.”

Despite extensive online searches, the woman has been unable to find any information about her biological father or her origins. She is now seeking help from the public in the hopes of reconnecting with her biological family and learning more about her past.

“I know I need to heal regardless, but this may help,” the woman said, expressing her gratitude in advance for any assistance in her search.
