Musa “Seaport” Kamara, 27, and Cecilia Briggs, 24, were at the Pademba court No. 2 to answer to allegations of a $30,000 Canadian visa fraud.

Police accused the pair on three count charges including obtaining money by false pretense, conspiracy to defraud and possession of passports for unlawful purposes.

Police said that Kamara and Briggs conspired to defraud a certain Makalay Mansaray on behalf of Joseph and Elizabeth Kambiama between November 1 and 30 2024, at Grafton, Western Rural District.

The investigation revealed that the two accused Kamara and Briggs conspired and defrauded the victims $19,000 by falsely claiming to provide Canadian visas to Joseph and Elizabeth.

The Prosecution alleged that between November 24 and 30, 2024, Kamara and Briggs received another $1,000 from Mansaray in the name of visa processing and on the December 24, 2024, the accused collected another $10,000 from Mansaray under the same false pretense.

Prosecutor, Sergeant Issa Kamara, during his investigations, discovered that Kamara, who claim to be working for the Sierra Leone immigration office, found multiple different passports in his possession. The discovered passports were brought to court on January 31, 2025 as evidence.

The fate of Kamara and Briggs will be decided, hopefully, on September 24, 2025, when Magistrate Fornah intends to take the next step in the investigation.
