CGICO to Re-Construct Malakika Gbomgboma Road
Salamatu Y. Kamara The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) on Tuesday 14th February 2023 signed an agreement with the China Gansu International Economics and Technical Cooperation (SL) LTD.
The contract was signed at the SLRA headquarters in Freetown by Director General, Amara Jambai Kanneh on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone and Mr Shubin Qiao General Manager in the presence of the member of Parliament, Hon. Sengepoh Thomas and a cross-section of the Board and Management of SLRA.
CGICO General Manager Mr Qiao expressed his delight and gratitude for receiving the first road construction contract in Sierra Leone adding that the company is committed to working within the specification of the contract.
Giving a brief statement, the member of parliament for constituency 089 Hon. Sengepoh Thomas thanked SLRA for coordinating the process leading to the award of the contract emphasising that the construction of that road is historic in Bonthe Island.
CGICO is expected to complete the road project in twenty-four (24) and is to be designed and built with a soft foundation and multiple box culverts.
