Paramount Chief of Malal Chiefdom Urges Calm Ahead of Sectional Elections

Paramount Chief Bailal N’soila Korthor III of Malal Chiefdom in the Northern District of Tonkolili has called on the community to remain calm and accept each other as the chiefdom prepares for its Sectional elections.

The stakeholders meeting, held on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025, was attended by people from across the chiefdom’s four sections.

In his address, the Paramount Chief urged aspirants to prioritise the community’s interests and ensure a peaceful process.

“Malal is the only chiefdom we can proudly call home, and everyone must ensure the community’s well-being,” he emphasized, highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation.

PC Bailal N’soila was elected as the Paramount Chief of Malal Chiefdom in October 2024, making him the third from the Bailal N’soila ruling house.

Now, after almost a year, he is calling for elections for the chiefdom’s four sections, with aspirants already showing interest.

The Paramount Chief explained that the rationale behind the election is to ensure he has competent individuals who can help him manage the affairs of the chiefdom. He assured his subjects that the elections would be conducted in a free and fair manner.

The Paramount Chief called on the community to maintain calm before, during, and after the electoral process.

Residents described the meeting as timely, and the attendees well received PC Bailal N’Soila’s message of unity and peace.
