– On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Initiatives (CHRDI) has reaffirmed its dedication to promoting a world where gender equality is not merely aspirational, but a lived reality for all women.
In a statement, CHRDI emphasized that the organization does not simply celebrate women, but actively advocates for justice for the vulnerable, accountability from duty-bearers, and the dismantling of systemic barriers that suppress female voices.
“True progress begins when every woman’s human rights are protected and her dignity is non-negotiable,” the statement read.
CHRDI highlighted the contributions of women across society, from trailblazers and market women to students and silent warriors, noting that their strength forms the backbone of communities across Sierra Leone.
The organization reaffirmed its mission to create a safe, equal, and just environment where women’s potential faces no limits. “Equality isn’t just a basic human right; it’s the cornerstone of a thriving nation,” CHRDI concluded.
Through its continued advocacy, CHRDI underscores the importance of protecting women’s rights and promoting inclusive development as key pillars of national progress.
