The Campaign for Human Rights and Development International (CHRDI), in partnership with The Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, is developing a new booklet aimed at educating Sierra Leoneans about their constitutional rights.
A focus group discussion is being held with civil society organizations across Sierra Leone to refine the brochure based on their feedback.
The goal of the focus group is to ensure the booklet is both clear and relevant to its readers. CHRDI, along with its partners, is committed to creating a resource that accurately communicates the provisions of Sierra Leone’s Constitution.
The booklet will offer a comprehensive overview of the Constitution, emphasizing its role in holding government and public institutions accountable.
It will specifically explore the rights enshrined in Chapter 3, “The Recognition and Protection of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms,” detailing how these rights safeguard individuals and communities throughout Sierra Leone.
That’s great, to adress this concerns we all civic educational system by teaching the grass root levels, primary, secondary and tertiary levels about the constitution of Sierra Leone. Honestly through this teaching practice there will be clear understanding of our fundamental right and the rule of Law. We all need a cooperative approach as citizens of mama salone. Thanks CHRDI for this good initiative.
How can you educate people about there right and still reject them when it comes to practices. I think you should leave the people to be at peace, because sometimes even knowing something can hurt.😋
