Aide to the President at State House, Michael ‘Myk’ Berewa has indicated that government have plans to increase salaries for civil and public servants in July 2025.
“Our government will implement a 30 percent salary increase starting April 2025 for civil servants in Grades 8 to 14, who haven’t seen a pay raise since 2018,” Berewa posted on his Facebook page.
The State House Aide also highlighted that the government plans to increase salaries for local council staff by 30 percent in next year April with plans to also hire 50 consultant personnel well in place. Berewa also noted that all military health workers will receive a 15 percent pay raise in the same April of next year.
Meanwhile, there are also plans to implement a 5 percent living adjustment for Foreign Missions and the Judiciary in also April 2025.
This salary increment is the first in over five years in Sierra Leone despite the West African country undergoing severe economic problems like the loss of value of the local currency, Leone and the rise in cost of living especially in the past couple of years.
In addition to this the State House Aide also said that non-NASSIT pensioners will receive a 25 percent increment starting April next year.
