Ibrahim Koroma, a Twenty-six-year-old building contractor was before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba Road Court No.6 in Freetown on one count charge of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of the offense before the court, it was alleged that the accused Ibrahim Koroma on the 27th February 2024 at Smith Drive Leicester village the mountain rural district in the western area, Freetown stole one hundred and thirty-five bags of charcoal each valued at one hundred and twenty Leones all to the total value of sixteen thousand two hundred Leones (16,200) which is the property of Mariama Kargbo.

The accused Ibrahim Koroma pleaded guilty after the charge was read and explained to him.

Dpc 14125 Abdul M. Kassim attached at the mountain division led as prosecution witness number one by Deputy Superintendent of Police Marie Sesay said he recognized the accused person in the dock.

He recalled on the 6th March 2024 Dpc 19546 Kamara handed over to him one spot motorbike with registration number ANI 152 with the key for registration and safekeeping.

The witness said he received them and registered them against serial number 25/2024 since then it has been in the custody of the police the said exhibit was produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records.

The prosecutor told the bench that fact as a charge no available records against the accused person.

The accused person pleaded with the bench to temper justice with mercy against him as he is a single father with a school-going child.

Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person, Magistrate Gogra sentenced the accused person to three months imprisonment at the Male Correctional Center in Freetown and the exhibit to be returned to the rightful.
