Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba Road Court No. 6 in Freetown has committed a case of 29-year-old Sahr Konday, a contractor to the High Court for a proper trial.
The Accused was arraigned before Court on one count charge of fraudulent conversion contrary to section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916
According to the particulars of the offence, on Saturday 19 November 2022, at Pedro Drive off Regent Road, Lumley in Freetown fraudulently converted to his use, nine lengths of iron rod, one carton wire nail, one-gallon wood preservative, ten lengths star rod, three bundles of corrugated iron sheets, two boxes of roofing nail, and one EDSA meter all valued at five thousand four hundred and forty New Leones (NLe5,440) entrusted to him for safekeeping by one Mohamed Kargbo.
After looking at the evidence before him, Magistrate Gogra said the evidence was sufficient to commit the matter to High Court.
The 29-year-old accused was granted bail in the sum of twenty million Old Leones (Le20,000,000) with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must also be residents of the Western Area and must have valid identity cards.
Magistrate Gogra also ordered that one surety must be employed and that the bail should be approved by the Bench.
