The Council of Imams in Bo recently visited Alhaji Dr. Kanja Sesay at his Tokpoi Town residence to express the Muslim community’s gratitude for his pivotal role in advancing Islam and to update him on key religious developments in the district.

During the meeting, religious leaders praised Dr. Sesay’s decades-long dedication to the growth and unity of Islam in Bo, southern Sierra Leone, and the nation at large.

They also thanked God for his ongoing recovery from illness and celebrated his leadership in fostering Islamic progress.

Alhaji Osman Kaiwoin, Chairman of the Council of Imams, provided an update on the proposed Bo Islamic Centre, confirming that construction remains on track with significant groundwork completed. He urged Dr. Sesay to continue efforts to facilitate pilgrimage opportunities for remaining Muslim leaders yet to undertake Hajj.

In response, Dr. Sesay emphasized the importance of perseverance during challenges and expressed joy at the visit, citing the enduring bond of “love and respect” between him and the Council.

He commended the peaceful state of Bo’s Muslim community since his return and pledged to monitor the Islamic Centre project closely while addressing other requests.

As a gesture of solidarity, Dr. Sesay donated three boxes of the Holy Quran to the Council, urging leaders to remain steadfast in their faith.
