Ahmed Rashid Kamara, a Businessman on Monday 27 February 2023, was sent on remand at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center for obtaining money by false pretense.

The accused Ahmed Rashid Kamara alias Pato), on Monday 27 February 2023, was dragged to Court by his fellow businessman Ibrahim Jalloh (Complainant) for obtaining over $2000 in exchange for travel to Brazil.

The accused was charged with three counts, two counts for obtaining money by pretenses, contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Law Act of 1916, and conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

According to the charge sheet on count 1, the accused between Tuesday 2 September and Saturday 10 December 2022, at Juba Hill, Freetown, conspired with other unknown persons to commit a felony by obtaining money by pretense.

Count 2 stated that the accused, on the same date and place with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of one $1200 equivalent to Le24,000,000 from Ibrahim Jalloh by falsely pretending that he will facilitate the travel of his younger brother Alhassan Jalloh to Brazil which was known to be untrue.

Count three stated that the accused on Friday 30 December 2022, at Juba Hill, with an intent to defraud, obtained the sum of $2000 equivalent to the sum of Le4,000,000 from Ibrahim Jalloh by falsely pretending that he will facilitate the travel of his younger brother Alhasan Jalloh to Brasil Which was known to be false.

The accused was denied bail and remanded at the Pademba Road Correctional Center until Mondy 13 March 2023, for further hearing.
