Edward Abdul Lansana, a driver, appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a charge of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The charge sheet states that between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2024, in Soja Town, Grafton, Lansana allegedly converted to his own use various properties entrusted to him by Edward Blackie for sale.
The items involved include a gold-colored Toyota Highlander, a white Toyota Camry, a standing air conditioner, a yellow power saw, and other assorted items, with a total estimated value of LE 411,000.
Upon reading the charges to the accused, no plea was entered. Magistrate Kekura denied bail and ordered Lansana to be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to May 15, 2025, for further proceedings.
