Magistrate Marke Ngegba has remanded Frank Lahai Jr after being accused of destroying and stealing EDSA cables, which are properties of the government of Sierra Leone.
The accused Frank Lahai made his first appearance before Magistrate Marke Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a preliminary investigation.
The accused is before the court on two-count charges of damaging a supply line contrary to section 73 of the National Electricity Act of 2022 and stealing electricity cables contrary to section 74 of the National Electricity Act of 2011.
It was alleged by the police that the accused Frank Lahai Jr on Wednesday 28th of December 2022, at Campbell Street in Waterloo damaged EDSA supply line, which is the property of the government of Sierra Leone. It was also alleged that on the same date and at the same location, the accused stole a quantity of EDSA cables and trunk line cables which are also properties of the government of Sierra Leone.
After the charges were read and explained before the accused person, he did not take any plea.
The matter was adjoined to the 26th of January 2023 and the accused was remanded.
