A tragic loss hits the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology staff specifically the security unit as Mr Abass Sesay, a security staff passed away.

This ugly incident sadly took place in the early hours of Wednesday 17 January 2024 at the Port Loko Campus.

Sheding light on what transpired on the sad day, one of the security staff close to the deceased narrated:

“He came on campus and signed the attendance on the very day, then he was posted at the resource center post. Shortly he left for the rest room, on his way returning, he fell down and collapsed. One of the cleaners on campus raised the alarm, before rescuers could converged to the scene he was already dead. (swagatgrocery) ” He said.

According to other eye witnesses, blood was discovered in the rest room and the place where he fell. He said Police and doctors were called to examine the situation but he was not able to get the clarity of the cause of the death but speculations pointed at tuberculosis.

The witness disclosed that prior to the sad incident, Mr Sesay,Β  the deceased, used to be very sick and that he recently came from a month long medical leave granted to him by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the campus.

Another co worker shared similar story surrounding the death. The incident was a sad one to the Port Loko Campus as co workers expressed their emotions.

The deceased has been laid to rest by his family together with staff members of the EBK University.
