The Deputy Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara has admonished graduates of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology to utilise the skills and knowledge learnt during the course of their study.
The deputy minister made this plea during the graduation ceremony of the first set of Limkokwing graduates, urging them to use their skills to serve the technological needs of the modern world.
He informed the students that this generation represents the fourth industrial revolution that has developed technologies like internet, robotics, virtual reality and artificial intelligence and that these has changed the world response to socio-economic challenges.
He informed the students that the purpose of the diplomas and degrees earned is to prepare for the future and use it to achieve their highest potential and equally contributing meaningfully to society.
The deputy minister ended by calling on his colleagues to create enabling learning environment for students in order for them to acquire the necessary skills needed in this contemporary world.
Limkokwing University conferred diplomas and degrees to over 900 students over the weekend for the first time at Bintumani Conference Centre in Aberdeen, Freetown.
The university is well-known for their advanced methods of learning yet expensive tuition fees.
Most of the graduating students on Saturday are on government scholarship.
