Edwina Jamiru, the law student at the center of a high-profile paternity case against Appeals Court Judge Justice Mohamed Alhassan Momoh-Jah Stevens, has publicly given her account of their relationship, alleging she was sexually exploited and treated “like a sex toy.”
Jamiru delivered her testimony at the Power of God’s Kingdom Church in Hill Station, days after a High Court ruling ordered Justice Stevens to pay NLe 10,000 monthly in child support following a DNA test that confirmed his paternity with a 99.999% certainty.
In her church testimony, Jamiru stated that the judge, who was also a lecturer in her faculty, “exploited” her. “He sexually abused me… [he used me] like a sex toy or something,” she told the congregation.
“It was DNA that actually answered the pregnancy for him,” Jamiru stated, referring to the conclusive laboratory reports presented in court that showed a 99.999% match between the minor child and Justice Stevens.
When asked by the prophet why she did not report the abuse earlier, Jamiru responded, “He’s a lecturer in my faculty and also he’s a judge and I’m aspiring to become a lawyer. So all these positions, he’s actually abusing his position.”
The church prophet, however, challenged her timing, stating, “The problem is not the judge, the problem is you… you speaking up after pregnancy it’s like maybe you are enjoying it.” The prophet then performed a deliverance prayer, attributing the situation to “Satan.”
This testimony comes after Jamiru claimed she was prevented from sharing her story at another church, Winners Chapel, just days after the court victory.
The case has drawn significant national attention, leading to Justice Stevens being placed on administrative leave by the Chief Justice in late September 2025. The judiciary cited media publications surrounding the case as having “the tendency to adversely affect the reputation of the Judiciary.”
