The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has announced significant progress in its efforts to combat illegal dredge mining in Sierra Leone.

In a recent operation across the Bo, Kenema, and Kailahun districts, authorities destroyed twenty-two dredges and apprehended five individuals involved in illegal mining activities.

This crackdown is part of a coordinated regional effort aimed at preventing water pollution in the Moa and Sewa Rivers.
