A tense family dispute over an estate property belonging to the late Abi Bockarie Bangura has resurfaced before Magistrate Brima Samura (Y1-2) at the Pademba Road Court No. 8 in Freetown.

The matter involves Abu Zubairu Bangura and twelve other respondents — including Brima Wilson, Mohamed Kamara, Aminata Kamara, Mummy Conteh, Mummy Kargbo, Alhassan Koroma, Alie Kamara, Daddy Brima Limba, Madam Nenneh Daddy, Marie Kargbo, and Fatmata Kamara — all of whom are contesting possession and occupancy rights over the said property.

During the latest court sitting, Brima Wilson, continuing his testimony, presented a rent receipt as evidence, which he claimed was handed to him by the apartment owner in 2025 after making a rent payment. Wilson clarified that his intention in presenting the receipt was not to prove ownership but to show that the apartment rightfully belongs to Joseph Wilson and not to the applicant, Abu Zubairu Bangura.

However, the prosecution objected to the admissibility of the document, arguing that the receipt was not issued in Wilson’s name and, therefore, could not serve as credible evidence of his claim. Despite the objection, the court admitted the document into evidence and marked it as Exhibit A.

During cross-examination, defense counsel A.I. Barrie questioned Wilson about his relationship with the applicant. Wilson admitted that Abu Zubairu Bangura is his cousin but denied being a biological member of the Wilson family.

The estate property, according to court records, was earlier granted to Abu Zubairu Bangura on December 22, 2023, following an administrative decision.

Magistrate Brima Samura adjourned the matter to October 14, 2025, for further hearing and additional witness testimonies.
