High court Judge, Justice Aiah Simeon Alieu has sentenced 30 years old Sinneh Suma to run a jail term of 34 years for incest and sexual penetration of his daughter.

Sinneh Suma, the accused was standing trial on two count charges of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the sexual offences Act of 2012 Act No.12 of 2012 as repealed and replaced by Section 4 (a)(ii) of the sexual Offences Amendment Act 2019, Act No.8 of 2019 and Incest contrary to the section 10 (1) of the sexual offences Act 2012 Act No.12 of 2012.

According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that the accused on diverse dates between 1st January to 14th September 2023 in Freetown engaged in an Act of sexual penetration with a child, while count two further stated that on the same date and place the accused engaged in sexual penetration with his daughter.

A report stated that the accused had pleaded guilty to the charges of incest and sexual penetration he committed.

The accused in his voluntary statement to the police pleaded guilty to the offences and is on record as the biological father of the victim (13 years old) and has on a regular basis taken the victim to the farm and sexually penetrated her along the road at Bureh in the Western Area Rural district.

According to the convict, he has 3 kids left out two of whom are girls. He disclosed to the court that his deceased father has been after him to inherit a ‘devil’ Justice Allieu considers such act as not just immoral but spiritual he therefore sentenced him to thirty four years imprisonment to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
