Fourah Bay College Muslim Jamaat has received humanitarian support worth over NLe 13,000 from Liberals Brotherhood.

The donated items include 50 praying mats, 50 rubber kettles, 50 bundles of pure water and cooking seasonings.

The presentation of the donation was made by the Law Society Presidential Candidate, Abdulrahman Mohamed Dukuray.

Dukuray said that the donation is part of the organisation’s way of fulfilling their zakat in the holy month of Ramadan. He added that the donation would be beneficial to Muslim students that reside on campus.

The Chief Imam of the FBC Muslim Jamaat, Imam Abdul Razak said they are grateful for the donation especially at a time when hundreds of students break their fast at the mosque this Ramadan.

“As a Jamaat, we have received these items in good faith. The mosque has become overcrowded and these items will help solve the many challenges,” the Imam said.

The FBC Jamaat over the years have been providing food for students to start and break their fasts during Ramadan. The students Jamaat spends millions of Old Leones every year to actualise this tradition.
