A fire outbreak occurred near the Koidu City Clock Tower along Main Kainkordu Road in Koidu City, destroying several small business shops.

The incident took place around 1:00 AM on Thursday, 28th November 2024.

The Kono Fire Force swiftly responded to the scene, working diligently to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.

As a precautionary measure, the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) in Kono immediately shut down the power supply across Koidu Township to safeguard lives and property.

Power has since been restored, with EDSA assuring the public that the affected area has been fully isolated. The authority is also closely monitoring the situation to gather more information about the incident.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant as investigations continue.
