The International University Sports Federation (FISU) has awarded a Sierra Leonean sports journalist, Abu Hassan Kargbo, the tittle of FISU Student Ambassador for 2024/25 season.
Kargbo, a reporter for Voice of Wusum Radio and a correspondent for NewsFeed Sierra Leone, an online media platform, earned this prestigious honour following his participation in a two-day Volunteer Leaders Academy program that was organized by FISU.
Kargbo’s selection highlights his commitment to sports journalism and his steadfast effort to promote university sports.
As the FISU Student Ambassador for Sierra Leone for 2024/25, he is charged with the mandate to promote university sports as well as the values and programs of the organization across the country.
FISU is the world governing body of national university sport organizations. It organizes and governs global sport competitions for student-athletes.
