One of Sierra Leone’s three popular tourist islands, located in the Kamasondo Chiefdom of the Port Loko District, has been severely affected by devastating floods.

Torrential rainfalls lasting for several hours have led to the island being submerged under water, causing significant distress among residents.

Local reports indicate that the flooding has left the entire island inundated with water from the nearby sea, making daily life nearly impossible for those living there.

Residents are struggling to cope with the disaster, which has damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods, and left the island in dire need of emergency relief.

Many residents are calling for urgent assistance from the government and humanitarian agencies to address the immediate challenges posed by the flooding.

The lack of essential supplies and shelter has exacerbated the situation, with many fearing that conditions could worsen if help does not arrive soon.
