The Foundation of Islamic Information in Sierra Leone (FOISIL) is set to organize the 9th Annual Quranic Competition on Sunday 2nd April at the Adjai Crowther Amphitheatre, Fourah Bay College in Freetown.

The competition normally attracts participants from all five regions in the West African nations.

Participants, in previous years, compete in different categories including full and half Quran among others.

Winners and runners-up normally take home millions of Old Leones, electronic gadgets, and scholarships.

The winner of the competition will also have the opportunity to represent Sierra Leone at an international Quranic competition held in Dubai every year.

In other news, Abdulai Sidik Jalloh, winner of last year’s competition made his first appearance in the Dubai International Quranic Memorisation Competition on the 31st of March this year.

The competition is believed to be the foremost Quranic competition in the world attracting over 40 countries with hundreds of participants from all over the world.
