Residents of Kono District are currently grappling with a serious fuel shortage, with the situation reportedly most severe in Koidu City.
According to reports from AYV Media Empire, information from the district indicates that several fuel stations have run out of petrol, leaving drivers, commercial motorbike riders, and transport operators struggling to access fuel for their daily operations.
The scarcity has forced motorists to form long queues at the few filling stations that still have petrol available. Many residents have expressed frustration, noting that transportation is a critical part of their daily livelihoods and essential services.
The shortage is already beginning to impact transportation and small-scale businesses across the district. Reports indicate that some commercial motorbike riders have temporarily suspended operations due to the lack of fuel, leaving many commuters stranded and facing difficulties moving around the city.
Residents have therefore called on the relevant authorities and fuel suppliers to urgently intervene and restore a stable supply of fuel to the district, in order to ease the hardship currently being experienced by the public.
