The funeral arrangements for the late Samuel Brima Mattia, a respected journalist and beloved colleague who was brutally murdered by the station manager of VOPADRadio96.5FM, have been announced in coordination with his bereaved family.

The media community and the public are invited to pay their last respects and honor his memory during a series of solemn ceremonies scheduled from Sunday, 19th January, to Friday, 24th January, 2025.

Rosary Prayer

The rosary prayers will be held from Sunday, 19th January, to Wednesday, 22nd January, at the Funeral Home, beginning at 6:30 PM each evening.

Vigil Mass and Candlelight Procession

On Thursday, 23rd January, a Vigil Mass will be held at 7:00 PM at Christ The King Catholic Church, Kissi Town, Waterloo. Following the service, a candlelight procession will lead mourners from the church to VOPARD Radio and then to the Funeral Home. Wake-keeping will take place thereafter, from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Funeral Mass and Burial

The laying out of the late journalist’s body is scheduled for Friday, 24th January, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home or his former residence.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM at Christ The King Catholic Church, Kissi Town, Waterloo.

Interment will take place at Joe Town Cemetery, where family, friends, and colleagues will bid him a final farewell.
