The elderly mother of the late Momoh Konteh, a former district chairman of the All Peoples Congress (APC) and NATCOM Director, has made a heartfelt plea to President Julius Maada Bio, urging him not to seize her family home.

Momoh Konteh tragically lost his life in a controversial road accident in 2020, along with two other APC officials. Following his death, the state seized his properties, including the family home where his frail mother currently resides.

Reports indicate that soldiers and police have surrounded the house, intensifying the distress of the grieving mother.

“Every morning, I see soldiers at my house,” she said, expressing her anguish and fear of eviction right from her sick bed. The elderly woman, who is battling illness, described the home as her only refuge, left to her by her son. “I do not have any other place to go or someone to run to,” she lamented.

Her plea is not just a personal cry for help but a broader call for compassion in the face of political turmoil. She urged President Bio to consider her situation, emphasizing her despair and old age. “Please don’t take my home,” she implored, hoping that empathy will guide the President’s decision.
