Officers at the Criminal Investigation Department in Freetown are presently investigating the mysterious disappearance of one Peterlyn Florence Bangura, aged 14, and also a former pupil of Henmat International Secondary School.

Investigations uncovered that on the 1st of January 2025, Esther Nasratu Bangura, who happens to be the mother, received a call from one Finda Finfin Favour Davies, who broke the news to her that her daughter had drowned at the No. 2 Beach River.

It was understood that Madam Finda Finfin Favour Davies, the guardian to the late girl, took her and her colleagues to the No.2 Beach River to have fun and spend some time during the holidays. What led to the mysterious disappearance of the late girl, whose corpse is yet to be seen, is the big question that have been coming from the lips of people.

According to an undercover investigating, it was disclosed that among the three girls who were holidaying at No. 2 Beach River, it was only Peterlyn who was declared missing, but sources close to Madam Davies explained that among the three girls, two of them were rescued by one guy, while Peterlyn was unable to make it.

Peterlyn’s Mother, Madam Esther, reports states, upon receiving the distress call from Madam Davies, rushed to the beach together with a cross section of her relatives to ascertain if what she was told about her daughter is true.

Disappointedly, when Esther and her relatives visited the beach, report states that they met Madam Finda Davies in a relaxed mood reading novel, as if nothing has gone wrong. Madam Esther later demanded an explanation on the whereabouts of her daughter, Peterlyn. Her response, according to other family members, was she owed no explanation to anyone.

This, eye witnesses stated, provoked a confrontation between members of the family and Finfin Davies that sought the intervention of the Resort owners, who advised both parties to report to the Adonkia police station at about 2 am. During the initial questioning of Finda, they realized that the incident occurred since 2 pm and Finda did not report the incident to the police station.

Surprised by the conflicting explanations surrounding the disappearance of the girl and the mood of the two girls reported to have drowned together with Peterlyn, and the disappearance of the man who reportedly rescued the two girls, and her failure to instantly call on the attention of the police, created suspicion among family members.

The matter was later transferred to the CID Headquarters, with Finda currently under detention helping the police with the investigations.
