Sierra Leone’s social media space has been set ablaze following the circulation of a leaked nude video involving popular blogger, Hawanatu Konneh.
The video, currently trending on WhatsApp, has sparked widespread conversation and disbelief among netizens, with many questioning the rise in such incidents.
In a Facebook post addressing the leak, Konneh publicly accused her ex-husband, Gibrill Bangura, of being behind the release of the video. She expressed that the video in question was filmed in 2014 when she was 22 years old.
“Gibrill Bangura, you are my ex-husband, like I told you last week. Nothing will ever make me accept you again,” Konneh wrote. “I knew this day would come, but I didn’t know how soon. You can do whatever you want with a video I made in 2014.”

Despite the scandal, Konneh seemed to express a sense of relief, stating that she felt a burden had been lifted after enduring three years of what she described as an ongoing battle. “Today, I will definitely sleep well. Burden lifted, for the past three years this battle has been going on,” she added in her post.
The release of the video has left many in shock, as it follows a wave of similar incidents where intimate videos have surfaced online in recent weeks. While the controversy unfolds, the incident highlights growing concerns about privacy violations and the emotional toll on victims of leaked content.
