The High Court sitting in Kambia District, presided over by Justice Kekura, has delivered a series of rulings in ongoing criminal matters, sentencing several defendants for a range of offences.

In one of the major judgments, Gbassay Sesay and Hajariatu Osman Bangura were convicted of conspiracy, burglary, and larceny. Sesay received a 10-year prison term, while Bangura was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment with the option of paying a 1,000 Leone fine.

In a separate ruling, Saliu Saidu Kamara was found guilty of wounding and sentenced to six weeks in prison, with the alternative of a 500 Leone fine.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Lamin Bangura was handed a six-year sentence for larceny of cattle and killing animals. The court also imposed an eight-year term on Saidu Bangura for shop breaking and larceny.

Additional defendants, including Abdul Karim, Ibrahim Haruna Kamara, Alusine Conteh, and Alimany Kamara, received various sentences for offences detailed during the proceedings.

The High Court session remains ongoing, with more judgments expected in the coming days, underscoring the judiciary’s continued effort to address criminal activity in the district.
