Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah has celebrated his father’s retirement to the country’s civil service.
“45 years after he started his career -20 of which he’s spent in government, my father, Mohamed Alpha Bah, yesterday formally submitted his final handing-over note to kickstart his retirement,” Bah wrote on his Twitter page.
He also shared photos of his father together with his grandchildren and partner on the Twitter post.
“I’m very proud of him and grateful for the example he’s set for me all his life,” he said.
Bah is among several youths appointed by President Julius Maada Bio to his cabinet in his second term.
He is the first to be appointed as Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education.
Before his appointment, Bah was a women’s and girls’ rights activist. He was the CEO and founder of rights group Purposeful.
