Former FIFA Council Member Isha Johansen has responded to rumors suggesting she plans to run for the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) presidency again, denying any such intentions.
In a recent interview, Johansen spoke about her time in football administration and her future plans.
Johansen expressed her full support for good governance within the SLFA, stressing the challenges the organization faced both before and during her time in office. “There are so many things that have gone wrong before I came. There are so many things that continue to go wrong whilst I was there hence the reason I ran into so many problems with stakeholders and with government, there are so many things that continue to go wrong,” she said.
When asked about the possibility of contesting for the SLFA presidency once again, Johansen responded firmly, “No, I’ll tell you categorically No.” She further explained that her focus now lies on global matters. “There’s a bigger global impact and a lot of things that I need to do and chase up and a lot of things that I see moving forward that I’m going to do.”
Johansen also addressed her potential involvement in the upcoming SLFA election, saying, “I’m not allowed, I don’t think it’ll be ethical for me to do that.” Despite this, she made it clear she would continue to stand for good governance and integrity in the game. “I won’t be quiet about the fact that I stand for good governance, ethics, and integrity in the game.”
