Magistrate Hadiru Daboh adjourns proceedings in a case involving fourteen individuals accused of riotous conduct, disorderly behavior, and related offenses, setting judgment for November 17, 2023.
The accused, including Lukemon Yaya and thirteen others, were brought before the court, facing charges related to their alleged involvement in riotous and disorderly behavior on the specified date.
Police records presented during the trial suggested that on the mentioned day, the accused engaged in actions that were deemed riotous and disorderly.
The prosecution’s key witness, Sergeant 10275 Buya Abu Kamara, who serves as the Exhibit Clerk at the Regional Ross Road Police Station, tendered various exhibits, including placards with inscriptions such as “We want data information known. We need good governance in Sierra Leone,” and others with similar messages.
Sergeant Kamara, responsible for receiving and safekeeping all exhibits investigated by police officers, testified that he produced and tendered these items in court when necessary.
Detailing an incident on September 13, 2023, Sergeant Kamara recounted that Detective Police Constable (DPC) 12144 Jalloh S, attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), handed over the exhibits during his duty at the Exhibit Store.
With the prosecution closing its case after presenting the exhibits as evidence, the accused were denied bail and remanded.
Magistrate Daboh assured a verdict and judgment on Friday, November 17, 2023, as the legal proceedings continue to unfold.
