As the Executive Secretary of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), Sheriff has been instrumental in steering pivotal initiatives aimed at fortifying APRM activities. His recent familiarization tour across the Northern and Northwestern regions of Sierra Leone, conducted from November 14 to 17, 2023, was specifically designed to bolster APRM activities and shed light on the critical thematic area of preventing Unconstitutional Changes of Government (UCG) within the APRM framework.

Sheriff, a seasoned political specialist, possesses a proven track record of leadership and competence in advocating for constitutional governance. He envisions an organizational landscape that informs, inspires, and supports colleagues while fostering an environment of dedication and commitment.

Highlighting his plans upon assuming office, Sheriff emphasized the importance of strengthening relationships with stakeholders and all branches of government to ensure the success of the APRM and fortify democracy in Sierra Leone. He aims to address existing challenges, such as stretched activities and limited partnerships, by strategically involving critical players who will align their efforts with the APRM’s objectives.
