Panic in Koinadugu district as the Kono people killed an elderly Fulah woman, cows and destroyed their properties in Mansonfinja village as a revenge for the killing of one of their brothers for a cow.
As the violence between the Fulah and Kono tribes rise, the Kono people invaded a Fulah town and killed the Fulah woman to revenge for the killing of one of their members by a Fulah man. They also killed their cows and destroyed their properties.
According to report, the Fulah people have grouped themselves to also invade Kono for the killing of the elderly Fulah woman. The sources added that, the whole town is empty as people are moving with their properties to another village.
The violence came after a Fulah man who owned a woreh of cows killed one Kono man who was alleged of stealing his cow. He used a cutlass and split the head of the alleged theft. He was rushed to the hospital and given medical treatment but he was unable to make it. This made the Kono people to invade the Fulah town and killed an elderly Fulah woman.
The issue of cows destroying crops of farmers, especially in Koinadugu and Falaba districts is not a nnew born baby. Sometimes back in 2020, it happened in Kumala (Koinadugu) but thank God no ffullah was killed and no kurankoh was killed. This sad situation was put under control by PC Foday Alimamy the 3rd at Kellian Section.
Now, it is between the Konos and Fullahs. What a sad story and ungodly act. What were the authorities doing in there? The Paramount Chief’, section, town chief, youth chairman and others should be arrested immediately for investigations.
Meanwhile, government should send in police and military men to man the disgruntled communities so as to avoid further killings. Tribal war is foundation to national war. We don’t want that. Let us member the 11 years senseless civil war and recalled those bad memories.
More so, the vice president, Juldeh Jalloh must leave his office now and embark on peace talk with his fullah family, vis a vis for Sam Ansumana.
Just 9 months to elections, just few hours to campaign, just minutes to delegates conferences our country is in this kind of calamity. Let us stop the in fight and focus on our bread and butter issue. Let us don’t allow bad evils to control us.
