A 21-year-old labourer, Bockarie Koroma has denied a voluntary caution statement issued by the police in a preliminary investigation at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court.
The accused informed the magistrate that the complainant, Alhaji Jalloh was his boss who he used to work for at his cement store located at Yams Farm, Western Rural District.
Koroma said he took a sick leave and went up country but was accused by his boss to have stolen a whopping sum of NLe 360,000.
He said his boss informed him that the said sun was found in his backpack. Koroma denied having knowledge of the said money while adding that he could have fled had he been the one that took such money.
He told the magistrate that the complainant maltreated him and even lock him up in a store before informing the police.
The Prosecutor in the matter, Inspector Sellu applied for an adjournment in order to tender the recorded statement given by the accused.
The matter comes up again on August 14.
It clear that the young man is innocent. If he’s guilty he’ll never return to be a laborer again but most SLP are very stupid and don’t bother to investigate.
