Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown has remanded a driver, Frank Lahai Junior, for allegedly damaging Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority-EDSA Line.
The accused appeared before the court on two count charges ranging from the damage of the electricity supply lines contrary to section 73 of the National Electricity Act of 2022.
He was alleged to also damaged the EDSA supply line which is property of the Government of Sierra Leone on the 28th December, 2022 at Champbell Town In Waterloo, Freetown.
The second count states that, the accused on the same date and place stole a quantity of EDSA cables which are also property of the Government of Sierra Leone and he pleaded guilty to the second count as well.
The accused however pleaded guilty to the crime
Magistrate Ngegba denied the accused bail and remanded him at the male correctional centre on Pandemba Road in Freetown as the matter is being adjourned to Thursday, February 23, 2023.
