A Freetown magistrate has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a bank branch manager who failed to appear in court to face serious financial crime charges.
Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 issued the warrant on Friday, January 30, 2026, against Tamba Mani, a 30-year-old Branch Service Manager at Sky Bank’s Makeni Branch.
Mani faces four criminal counts: conspiracy to defraud, larceny by servant, fraudulent embezzlement, and money laundering. The charges relate to an alleged incident on August 14, 2025, at the Makeni Branch in Bombali Shebora Chiefdom.
The prosecution, led by Chief Superintendent of Police Tommy B. Ziza Esq., alleges that Mani conspired with unknown persons to defraud the bank and stole the sum of Two Million, Three Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Leones (Le 2,385,000) from Sky Bank Sierra Leone Limited.
When the case was called, the accused was absent. Upon application by the prosecution, Magistrate Jah granted the request for a warrant, which was issued against both the absent accused and his sureties.
The matter has been adjourned pending the arrest of the accused.
