The Community Relations and Information Officer of the Pujehun Police Division, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kenawa John Squire has revealed that the Family Support Unit of the Pujehun Police Division is currently investigating an alleged case of sexual penetration of a three-year-old girl.

According to ASP Squire, on Thursday, August 24th, 2023, at approximately 8:00 am, Hawa Kengo, a resident of Ngeyawamie Village, Barrie Chiefdom, Pujehun District, accompanied her three-year-old daughter to the Pujehun Police Station, reporting that the child had been sexually abused and penetrated on Thursday, August 22nd, 2023, at around 5:40 pm at their home.

Ishiaka Konneh, a twenty-seven-year-old man from the same village has been alleged as the perpetrator.

Upon receiving the report, the police requested a medical examination for the victim. The victim and her mother were later accompanied by police personnel to the One Stop Centre Office in Pujehun town.

The medical report stated that the victim experienced vaginal and body pain as a result of the alleged sexual penetration.

The police medical request was endorsed, and the statement was obtained from the victim’s mother, who claimed to have witnessed the alleged penetrator sexually penetrating her three-year-old daughter.

The police visited the scene of the crime, and the alleged perpetrator was apprehended and is currently helping the police with further investigations.
