A tragic hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a man in Freetown this morning.

The incident occurred at Cole Farm Junction on Wilkinson Road amidst heavy downpours that have been plaguing the city.

Witnesses reported seeing the man struck by a car, which sped away from the scene without stopping. The man, unfortunately, died at the scene.

Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the victim. “He wasn’t carrying any identification,” a witness stated, “If anyone recognizes him, please come forward to the nearest police station.”

The investigation is ongoing as police search for the hit-and-run driver.
