Mohamed Jagitay on Wednesday 15th November 2023, appeared before magistrate Marke Ngegba of Pademba road court No1 in Freetown over allegations of murder.
The accused, Jagitay, is answering to one count charge of murder contrary to law before Magistrate Mark Ngegba.
Police alleged that the accused on Friday 28th July 2023, at Kellie Farm Malambay village Waterloo murdered his cousin Ibrahim Jagitay.
Led in by Inspector Sellu TAP, prosecution witness 5, Ibrahim Kamara identified himself as a nurse attached to the Rokupa Government hospital.
He recalled knowing the accused and recalled the date 28th July 2023. He said he was at his residence at that time when the accused came to him with wounded thumb and palm to treat, adding that after he treated him and inquired on how he got the injuries, the accused told him that he had fell from a motor bike.
“ I later asked him to come back the following days for treatment after giving him three stitches on that day, but he never showed up again.” He explained.
He further that he was later called on the 2nd August 2023, by the Waterloo police station where he made statement in respect of the matter.
The matter was adjourned to the 23rd November 2023 and the accused remanded in custody.
