In a recent development, the Waterloo Police Division has apprehended Daniel Sarra Sesay, a 35-year-old resident of Grassfield, Waterloo.
Sesay was taken into custody on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, at the Waterloo Police Station.
The arrest stems from a fraudulent scheme orchestrated by the accused, where he deceived over 500 residents of Makomba and Magbafti villages situated along the Newton-Fogbo road. Under the guise of a UNICEF food and relief registration scam, Sesay collected a sum of NLe 10 (Ten New Leones) from each victim.
This is not the first time Sesay has faced charges related to fraudulent activities. On June 8th, 2023, he was detained at the CID Waterloo Police Station after swindling substantial amounts of money from residents of Madonkeh, Mashenk, Makonkonday, and various other villages.
The suspect had claimed to provide “free UNICEF food and relief items,” as reported by the Media Team of the Waterloo Police Division.
