Magistrate Wilbri Hamida M. John of Court No. 2 at the Kenema Magistrate Court has sentenced Peter Lahai to 36 months in prison for wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Lahai faced two charges: wounding under Section 20 and assault causing actual bodily harm under Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861.
Prosecutor Inspector Aiah Mafinda Teh told the court that the incident occurred on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at Bogru Road, Kenema, Nongowa Chiefdom, when Lahai unlawfully attacked Mohamed Bonoh Conteh, causing injuries.
The accused pleaded guilty to both counts and requested leniency. Magistrate John sentenced him to 24 months for wounding and 12 months for assault, to run consecutively, totaling 36 months at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema.
