Political Analyst and Executive Director, Campaign for Good Governance, Marcella Samba Sesay, has reacted to the recent State House appointment made by the President, Dr Julius Maada Bio.

This follows after an appointment letter dated the 13th October, 2022, from the office of the President, appointing Michael Berewa as the Director of Communications, was circulated on Social Media.

The political Analyst is concerned after learning that this Michael Berewa is the same blogger whom she described as notorious individual that is attacking, insulting and fabricating ‘stories’ against personalities and groups on Facebook.

Expressing her concern on a facebook post, she stated that she does not want to believe that this is true, because, if that is the case, the state is attempting to validate, legitimize and institutionalize violent communication in our public policy discourse.

She stated how disappointed she felt after she had learnt that the appointment letter was signed by someone who aught to know better.

” i am equally taken aback to see that the appointment letter was signed by a seasoned and well respected civil servant, who understands the rubrics and ethos of public service.”

She concluded by warning that we cannot fight hate speech and incendiary language by publicly rewarding perverts, adding that the state will only be opening the floodgates to the ‘adebayors’ of this world.
